I really appreciated Sairanne Wickers taking the time to explain the Fast Forward Trial and why she is recommending I have 5 days' radiotherapy. Sairanne took time to answer all my questions, described in detail what radiotherapy will involve (including drawing a very helpful diagram) and by the end of the consultation I felt confident that this is the best way forward. Also it's a relief that I will only need 5 days of treatment. Since I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, different lengths of radiotherapy have been talked about, from three weeks to six weeks. After talking to Sairanne, I was reassured that 5 days will offer protection from a recurrence of breast cancer. She explained this in detail. I had to finish weekly chemo sessions early (Paclitaxel) because of my low platelet count. Sairanne took the time to look at my most recent blood results and went to the breast oncology department to ask if there would be any further treatment for the low platelets. I very much appreciate her taking the time to do this because, as she said, that is not her specialty. Having spoken to Sairanne, I am no longer dreading radiotherapy. I feel I have a good grasp of what it will entail. I am very much looking forward to completing this last stage of my treatment. A big thank you to Sairanne.

I found Sarianne Wickers to be amazing at her job and I have the utmost respect for her. She was brilliant with me both face to face and on the phone - and my conversations with her were pivotal to me coping at the time and to my recovery. She was clear, direct, positive, kind and reassuring, listened to my concerns and acted upon them, guided me through my fears and set me on the right path. She was absolutely amazing! I have been a patient of Sairanne for 10 years she is very professional as well as being friendly and caring. I have just finished taking part in a 10 year trial and it was said to say goodbye. I couldn't recommend Sairanne more she is a truly dedicated professional

I felt the face to face consultation was very helpful. She obviously had read my notes/discussed within the MDT and had considered my individual case and made me feel I had all the time I needed to go over things. When I was concerned she gave me the information in another way and was able to give me examples/ scientific data to explain why this treatment was suitable for me. She also told me she was available if I had further questions which I did and she was!
